When I was cross stitching back in the late 70's to early 80's, I had never heard of floss tags. All of my DMC was wound on the cardboard bobbins. When I started stitching in late 2021, one of the first things I saw was floss tags. The DMC was all cut to a uniform length using various handy tools. Then it was put onto some kind of card and those were put on a ring. How cool was that?
I bought cardstock, cut it into strips and cut those into something about 2" x 3", punched holes and made my own tags. Then one day, I saw people sending in photos and having business cards made with the photos. Some were using pictures of stitching, some were using photos of flowers, some were using photos of things special to them.
I had two different cards made the first time.
One was Addie with her face painted.
The other was not long after Chad brought my grandpa's old pickup to their house and Addie was sitting in the driver's seat.
A couple of weeks ago I realized I was getting low on the cards so I ordered more and they arrived today.
Addie in the orange hat. She loved that hat! The bottom photo - I think she was in kindergarten and cut some roses to take to her teacher. How that girl has grown!
Seeing her on my floss tags makes me smile!
