So many of y'all are probably having scary weather today (Friday evening). Even though a lot of the warnings didn't materialize, thank goodness, we've had tornado chances, some pretty high, every day this week except Thursday. I was never really afraid of the weather until the Joplin tornado in 2011 and now, I find myself really being a weather wimp and I try to do better because Cooper is a big weather chicken and I  he senses my fear.

I try to keep the TV off and depend on the weather radio to let Vince know when we need to get in the safe room so today I took a long nap. Woke up to find my timing was off and the storms were going to be later than they had said earlier. I do have a headache - not weather related probably. Vince asked if I wanted aspirin and I told him wine was probably better but I opted for the aspirin.

OK. Lots of places have it way worse than we do . . Illinois & Wisconsin according to Ryan Hall. I'll stop complaining.

Today Vince had some errands to run so I went along for the ride. Really, I went along because he said we could get lunch at Texas Roadhouse! I took the measurements for 4th of July Rules.

I could finish that one in the next week or so. I found two pieces that might work for getting this one fully finished. Once the stitching is done, I'll figure out how I want to finish it and, of course, I'll share it all when it's finished and fully finished.

  1. We had tornadoes in Minnesota yesterday. Not nice when they start this early.

  2. Glad you stayed safe - it has been a scary week. And same as you -Thursday was lovely but the rest of the day this week storms, massive hail (co-workers one night on their way home got their car sunroofs and windshields shattered by hail as they were driving), tornado sirens going off. It was a long week! but luckily at my apartment we didn't get hail and the worst of the storms skirted around me but it was not fun. It was 79 yesterday before the storms came thru last night and now today at noon it's 40. This week looks storm free thank goodness.

  3. I’m feeling guilty, enjoying the weather here in Arizona, but I know it will soon be screaming hot while the rest of the country enjoys balmy but pleasant summer temperatures.
Thank goodness for air conditioning! 😅

  4. Judy, I follow Ryan Hall all the time. We have friends like you living in tornado areas and hurricane areas. He has such a wonderful setup and does so much helping raise $$$ for victims in need of help and assistance. He is the best! Glad you were spared once again and we love the Texas Roadhouse too out here in CA and AZ when we are there!

  5. We had bad winds here Thursday night. Took out 8 consecutive utility poles on the nearby main highway and our power was off 17 hours. We were in between the steps getting our home generator ready. We are ready now! Looking forward to seeing how you finish Fourth of July Rules. I stitched that one last year and it is waiting to be fully finished. I have a small hanger and have been contemplating turning it into a little "quilt" to put on the hanger. I am currently stitching Autumn Rules.
