Blessing Sampler

Every year, or at least the years since I started seriously stitching, there's been the Blessing Sampler. Stitching is supposed to begin on January 1 and be finished by the end of January 31. We choose our chart. We can make any changes we want to make. "They say" that if you start and finish your project in January, your stitching, your home and you (the stitcher) will be blessed throughout the year. I believe I'm pretty blessed anyway but I'm not taking any chances!  :)

In the past, I've stitched something small - something I was pretty sure I could finish in a month. This year, I felt like I'd rather have something I LOVE and something that has a saying that means something to me and if I go into the first week of February, so be it.

I had narrowed it down to either Christmas in My Heart 1843 or Find Joy in the Little Things.

Yesterday after stitching with Debbie and talking about it, I decided to stitch Christmas in my Heart and I started it a little after midnight. I didn't stay up too late so I didn't get a lot done. My thinking is that getting the house done should be some of the easiest and fastest stitching so, hopefully I counted correctly enough and got down to start the house.

My plan is to frame the house, windows and doors, then frame the trees because they should be easy stitching. Then I'll work on the border and words. On the days I feel like I didn't get enough stitching done, I can jump over to do fill in on the house and trees.

It will all end up the same. I can only stitch as much as I can stitch and if I get it done, I get it done! It isn't really going to matter if I stitch parts of it slowly and parts of it quickly - it all has to be stitched but it makes me feel better if I get at least 3.5% done each day.
