First, and much happier news. This morning was my last day of physical therapy (knee). I've been going since the end of June - twice a week. I had good expectations for the knee and the results are much better than I had hoped for. Unless I go up and down the stairs more than about 20 times a day (yes, it sometimes happens) and I'm not standing all day cooking or canning, my knee feels pretty much normal. So glad I didn't go with the knee replacement before trying PT.
Second, the more sad news (and it really isn't sad!). Yesterday I showed the picture of my progress on Christmas in my Heart, my blessing sampler.
Last night I got over to the left wall and counted the spaces between the door and the wall. WRONG! Actually, I had added an extra stitch between the door and the right wall and the roof needed an extra stitch on the left side so the space between the door and the left wall was 2 stitches off.
I figured out that the easiest way to fix it was to pick out the right side of the door, move it over to the right one stitch. On the left side, there is more blue to be stitched on that side of the door so I was able to leave that row. Then I added one more stitch to the left side of the roof and added the extra vertical row of stitching to the side of the house. Now I'm back on track but that wasted way too much time. Instead of getting about 500 stitches done, I got 218 stitches.
So, today, I'll be playing catch up and hopefully getting 600 or 700 stitches done.
Apparently the leaders are not straight on this frame and I have to turn the frame at an angle and tighten up the area shown in order to get a photo and it still looks wonky. If I can get caught up on the stitching, I'm probably going to take the leaders off and re-do them. This is making me crazy trying to stitch on what looks so crooked.
I made a pot of gumbo this week so we have that for lunch. I'm going to make some coleslaw to go with it so I should be able to get at least 10 hours of stitching in today . . if my hands can hold up to that.
